Laboratory of calibration and verification NDT
Presentation :
This lab main aim is to verify and calibrate Non Destructive Testing (NDT) equipments used in Algeria by inspection bodies in accordance with international standards. Among those NDT equipments, we could mention:
- Ultrasonic flaw detectors ;
- Eddy current testing ;
- UltrasonicTransducers;
- Thickness.
Pre-evaluated by the accreditation body ALGERAC, and accompanied by experts appointed by the European Union, the functionning of the laboratory is regulated according to ISO / IEC 17025 (2005) standard. The use of this international standard enables the laboratory to work rigorously and confidentially in an integrated way in order to better respond to the customer’s demands. The lab has two main tasks:
- Improving the accuracy and reliability of Non Destructive Testing
- Ensure the metrological traceability of apparatus by dint of an uninterrupted series of comparisons.
The laboratory features a bench of calibration and verification equipments of high precision. This bench includes reference and working equipments, ranging from high performance function generator to an accurate digital oscilloscope.
Thus, the laboratory possesses a panel calibration blocks that enable the calibration and verification operations according to standardized methods. Moreover, the traceability of these equipments compared to the International System of Units was ensured. The laboratory is currently composed of 04 members :
- A Head of Laboratory.
- A Technical Manager of the laboratory.

Our services:
Verification and characterization of ultrasonic testing apparatus according to NF EN 12668-1 standard.
Verification and characterization of ultrasonic transducers according to an internal method inspired from NF EN 12668-2 standard.
Calibration of ultrasonic thickness measurements by comparison to a reference standard.
Verification and characterization of eddy current testing apparatus according to ISO 15548-1 standard’s tests.
