Production of phosphoric acid from Algerian phosphate ore from Djebel Onk

Phosphorus, a vital element found in all living organisms, is of particular interest for its exploitation and valorization. It is present in over 85% of bones and teeth in the form of calcium phosphates. These phosphates are of great interest and have applications particularly in the biomedical, industrial, and environmental fields.

Phosphoric acid, second only to sulfuric acid in global production, is of great industrial importance. Phosphoric acid has numerous applications in various fields, including: calcium phosphate synthesis (bioceramics), the pharmaceutical industry, wastewater treatment, the food industry, equipment cleaning, and dyeing in the textile industry.
