Additive manufacturing of metallic filters based on stainless steel (316L) or aluminum alloy (AlSi10Mg0.5) for various industrial applications

Selecting suitable materials for metallic filters requires careful consideration of operating conditions such as high temperatures, pressure, and corrosive chemical exposure. Stainless steel 316L and aluminum alloy AlSi10Mg0.5 are particularly attractive due to their excellent corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, thermal conductivity, and chemical compatibility, making them well suited for demanding environments such as wastewater treatment, chemical processing, and marine applications. Compared with ceramics and polymers, these metallic materials offer superior durability and functional performance. This project focuses on the additive manufacturing of porous metallic filters based on these alloys, aiming to develop advanced filtration materials with extended service life, reduced maintenance costs, and strong application potential across various industrial sectors through modeling, simulation, and experimental validation.
