Diagnostics of Arc and Cold Plasmas: Application to TIG and MIG-MAG Arc Plasmas and Optometry.

The behavior, operating mode, and stability of plasmas significantly influence the quality and efficiency of processes that employ plasma-based techniques. In welding applications, arc plasmas directly determine both weld quality and process productivity. Conversely, cold plasmas—widely utilized in surface treatment, particularly for ophthalmic lenses in the field of optometry—affect the optical and mechanical properties of such surfaces.

Essential plasma parameters such as current, arc voltage, arc length, electrode type, and electrode diameter significantly influence the behavior and stability of both arc and cold plasmas, ultimately affecting the quality of the final product being treated or manufactured.
