The beginnings of the non-destructive testing technique in Algeria
In 1985, Welding and Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory (LSCND) got created because of the needs to apply such technique in the field of industry. Back at that time, this laboratory depended directly on the Development Centre in Energy Conversion (CDCE) and relied heavily on testing by radiography. It also conducted research in order to develop and upgrade other methods and techniques for the NDT. The research side back at that period was still in the implementation stage whereas the scientific output consisted basically of a few scientific and technical reports and some communications. Human resources which constituted the laboratorydid not exceed a total of 70 employees who were from the integration of employees from different institutions of the domain (welding and NDT) such as SERTAL, UNHCR, and some universities.
