First edition of the Scientific and Technical Days on Unmanned Autonomous Systems

The activities of the first edition of the Scientific and Technical Days on Unmanned Autonomous Systems, organized by the Industrial Technologies Research Centre, began on April 29, 2026, with the participation of numerous researchers, experts, and specialists in this strategic field.
This scientific event was inaugurated in the presence of the Director General of Scientific Research and Technological Development, Mr. BOUHICHA Mohamed, the Director of the Research Centre, Dr. BADJI Riad, as well as the National Delegate for Major Risks to the Ministry of the Interior, Local colectivities, and Transport. In their interventions, they emphasized the importance of this meeting as well as the growing role of unmanned autonomous systems in various fields.
The inaugural session was also marked by a specialized conference led by Professor HARAOUBIA Brahim, focusing on the role of modern communication systems in the monitoring of autonomous systems.
During the afternoon, the work of this day continued with four (04) conferences presented by specialists and experts in the fields of artificial intelligence and unmanned autonomous systems, leading to enriching exchanges and constructive interaction between the participants.
A discussion session dedicated to the current state of unmanned autonomous systems in Algeria was also organized and led by several specialists. This session allowed for an in-depth sharing of knowledge and experiences, as well as a debate around the challenges and perspectives related to this field.
Furthermore, the scientific committee proceeded with the evaluation of the various scientific posters presented, which reflect the level of the participants, their spirit of innovation, as well as the growing interest in this specialty.
On April 30, 2026, the activities of this first edition concluded with a series of high-quality conferences led by several specialists, including: Prof. BECHERIF Mohamed, Prof. LAGHA Mohand, Dr. BOULAHLIB Mohammed Amine, and Dr. ALLAM Ahmed.
On the sidelines of the closing ceremony, the management of the Centre presented certificates of recognition to the speakers, in tribute to their valuable scientific contributions that enriched the content of this event through their expertise and knowledge. Three (03) winners of the prize for the best scientific poster were also rewarded for their innovations and remarkable contributions in the field of unmanned autonomous systems, based on the evaluation of the scientific committee.
